Tom Peebles of Kennedy and Coe

An avid outdoorsman, Tom Peebles would like to live off the tip of Florida's mainland, where the Everglades meet the Atlantic Ocean, at least for a little while. He'd also like to be able to make consistently good batches of wine, year after year.

These hobbies aren't typical of an attorney but Tom isn't typical. He graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Law and joined Kennedy and Coe, LLC in 1985. Eighteen years later he became a member of the firm, working in specialty services and industries. His major areas of expertise include partnerships, pension and fringe benefit plans and entity formation, including tax-exempt organizations.

Tom is a member of the Wealth Creation group of the firm and is certified to practice before the Kansas and Nebraska U.S. District Courts and the U.S. Tax Court. As an attorney, he doesn't work on tax returns or complete the normal functions of an accountant, but that's what he likes best about his job - the challenge of complementing someone else.

Once when working on a 1,000-foot tower and simultaneously listening to his alma mater during a football game, Tom was distracted by a touchdown pass and slipped, catching himself with just his hand. Had he not narrowly missed the fall, he and his, wife, Denise, would not have four children and one grandchild.
