Steve Callahan consults with businesses to design employee benefit plans that create competitive advantages for the businesses and long-term value for their owners and employees. He oversees optimal plan design, and then establishes, audits, and administers plan types that include 401(k), employee stock ownership (ESOPs), cash balance, and defined benefit qualified retirement plans.

Whether it’s a small agricultural producer or a manufacturing company with 500 employees, Steve draws upon his extensive experience in IRS- and ERISA-compliant retirement plan management. He customizes each plan to achieve the company owner’s tax-deferral and employee retention goals. Some examples of what he does include:

  • Establishing ESOPs including ownership transition, feasibility analysis, transaction structuring, and plan implementation.
  • Designing and structuring new comparability retirement plans that allow employers to attract and retain staff with customized benefit solutions.
  • Advising farm operators on ways to structure retirement plans that maximize tax deferrals, avoid double taxation, and diversify their assets.

Steve grew up in an ag community where his family owned a hardware and grocery store, so he appreciates the hard work it takes to turn a profit. He brings comfort and financial security to business owners and their valued employees through innovative benefit-plan designs and thoughtful financial planning for the future.
