Taen (pronounced “tan”) Saeteurn helps K-12 school districts comply with governmental accounting standards by bringing potential problem areas to their attention early in the audit process. With nearly 20 years of experience in public accounting, she specializes in governmental, not-for-profit, and single audits.
Taen’s expertise in schools extends to improving their internal control systems, especially for small, rural school districts with limited resources. And she helps them well beyond audit requirements such as:
Born in Laos, Taen’s family escaped into Thailand after the Vietnam War when she was 7, and they lived in multiple refugee camps for the remainder of her youth. She quickly learned that education and hard work were the keys to getting ahead. During the classes offered by the United Nations, Taen discovered her natural ability for math and logic—skills that she eventually leveraged to pursue an accounting degree after her family finally made it to the US. Taen applies the strong work ethic and problem solving skills instilled in her youth as she help K-12 school districts protect their assets and meet their fiduciary responsibilities.
